CS Liew moved to Singapore from Malaysia in 1980 and worked in various international roles from market research to registrations and then to more senior management roles at Uniroyal Chemical. After 11 years with Uniroyal, Liew worked for Nufarm, also based in Singapore, for seven years in senior positions. He then set up his own agchem trading and marketing company, Pacific Agriscience, in 1999.
Throughout his career, he has been deeply involved in market development, sales and promotion of foliar fertilizers, micronutrients and biostimulants, in addition to proprietary pesticides. He has managed distributors and has been active in product training as well as developing and implementing marketing plans and strategies. Over the past 9 years, he has been very active in mergers and acquisitions – putting together deals in the agricultural inputs space.
CS has been nominated as a Council Member in the prestigious World Agriculture Forum (WAF) which has Board and Council members composed of many eminent leaders from governments, development institutions, corporates as well as experts in Agriculture. One of the Board Members is Dr. Wendy Wintersteen, President of Iowa State University where CS obtained his double degrees in Agronomy and Integrated Pest Managment. The WAF works on setting broad global agenda and development pathways for agriculture sector and lobby for policies that can direct world agriculture towards sustainability and sufficiency.
